Scottie the Parrot will on site to help you in your investigative role-play from 7:00 - 9:00 PM by greeting guests and taking photos with you to help you have the complete look of 80's Hawaii. One of the largest, longest, and most lavish parades in the Chicago area, the Houby Day Parade pays homage to the Czechoslovakian culture (Houby is the Czech work for mushroom) which was rich in the Berwyn Cicero area when it was originally settled. The 2019 parade kicks off at 12:00 Noon in Cicero on Cermak Rd. at 54th Court (1 block east of Central Ave.) and runs west on Cermak, ending at Riverside Dr. in Berwyn. Come to the parade where you can have a chance to see and touch Scottie as he passes by. Have your camera ready to shoot and we'll even stop for a quick photo. Having started in 1968, this will be the 51st
Anniversary of the parade. Pictured above from the 2011 Houby Day Parade with the Houby Day Queen, Scottie is brought to the parade by the Town of Cicero. So your best chance to have us stop for you is east of Lombard Ave in the Town of Cicero where we will be walking a slower pace. Rides, Food, and more Saturday, October 12, 2019 1:30 - 3:30 PM Catch Scottie in Mount Prospect for their Fall Festival. Scottie will be appearing for your entertainment and to touch and hold. Be sure to bring your camera or smart phone so you can capture your or your children's picture with him. Look for him as he wanders the festival between 1:30 and 3:30 pm.
Above from the 2015 Fall Festival The 2019 festival will be running rain or shine in downtown Mount Prospect, IL in the Downtown Mt. Prospect merchant district at the Corner of Emerson and Busse Ave.in front of the Village Hall. The event is being sponsored by the MPDMA - Mount Prospect Downtown Merchant's Association. Stores will be open and merchants will appreciate your patronage.

The Hideaway Brew Garden and Bar is featuring a 1980's Themed Hawaiian
Luau. The 80's era had an emphasis on the Magnum PI (Tom Selleck)
look. Come with your favorite Hawaiian shirt and aviator sunglasses
and the Hideaway Brew Garden will complete the look for you by providing
the lei (put on by a beautiful lei greeter) and the Magnum PI mustache for
you role play your 80's investigation . The full event runs from
7:00 - 11:00 PM.
